The building is unique and interesting - nothing boring here, but not too much either. The welcome was just right - the hosts are friendly and hospitable, but not intrusive. They were helpful, kind and accommodating. Everything in the guest house felt well cared-for and clean, and it was exactly what I was looking for. The location was perfect visiting my family, and the street was quiet without being out-of-the-way.
all reviews » This is my second time at Bla Dorren, and it has been just right once again! The beautiful building is decorated simply which enhances the beauty of the high ceilings and tile floors and the abundant light from outside. Breakfast is fresh and abundant. The location has been quite convenient, near the bay, near the bus, plenty of dining, and many places to walk. The hosts are kind and attentive, but never intrude. Beautiful B&B with great hosts. Fantastic building and room, lovely old features but new bathroom and all very clean. Lovely breakfast in courtyard. Rooftop sitting area was a bonus - perfect for evening drinks! Great location for exploring all of Malta. Free street parking all around which was very handy. We loved wandering around the backstreets of Sliema on way to and from restaurants. Sea 2 min away. The location is excellent, we also recommend the guesthouse to people who try to avoid crowded hotels. You have a feeling that you are at home, the atmosphere is wonderful and the owners are friendly. The room is large, with the high ceiling, rather comfortable. There isn't a TV, but it wasn't a problem as we had a laptop. Breakfast was good. I would definitely stay again. Margaretha and Stefan take very good care of all their guests in their beautiful guest house. Excellent rooms, breakfast and lovely backyard and rooftop terrace! If you want a family treatment and skip standing in line for breakfast, reception line etc. this is definitely the place to stay when visiting Malta. We will come back soon!. Stephan and Margaretha are great people. They helped us for everything and gave wonderful tips for eating and visiting the area. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Also, the hotel is situated very close to the beach and main attractions of Sliema and St. Julians. The friendliness of Stefan and Margaretha, the freedom they gave us to use their lovely Maltese home, the convenience of being a few metres from the front. Our host was very helpful and the place was cozy, clean and all the common areas were decorated with good taste. The sun terrace was amazing. This is a wonderful place; beautifully and elegantly furnished, and the owners could not be more friendly and welcoming. 100% recommended. We fully agree with J.P.'s (from Deft) review. Most friendly people eager to help. I would prefer my room to be cleaned more often. Maltese biting insects!. Nothing. The traveller should be made aware that the room is not made every day. But this could be a local standard.
