  Great location, very close from markets, restaurants and bus stops. The staff was very helpful about the touristic places in the island and the facilities around the hotel. The accommodations are very clean and tidy, even in the shared rooms and bathrooms. Definitely recommended - Staff were very accommodating, both in terms of the stay in the hostel itself and giving us advice on how to get around Malta. The location is excellent, a short walk from Sliema, St Julien's and Paceville, while the bus stop is just 50m away. There is a small general store across the road. Hostel has free internet, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as an extensive kitchen. It was easy to meet fellow hostelers too, and there was a good friendly spirit around the building.

The beds are comfortable, there is a kitchen to cook in and a nice living room and garden to hang out together. Penny, the hostess, is welcoming and makes a tasty breakfast :) Will definitely go back there next time I'm in Malta.

  The Location of the Highlander was absolutely amazing. You are in the middle of st. Julians and near a busstop. Also the host was very friendly and helpfull. The room was very clean - Really nice hotel. Perfect position, close to the beach and to the pub/bar/disco zone. The owner is very kind. I'll come back there for sure.
